Used in conjunction with the NBS Smoke Density Chamber, gaseous/volatile test products are drawn from the chamber at any time for analysis through three ports on the top of the chamber. One of these ports is used to connect to the ABD0031 vacuum box.

It is used to measure and describe the properties of materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions. Results of this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use.
